Travel Guide: Chicago, Illinois

Exploring Chicago was a little different because I either explore a city solo or with another person. This time it was me, Alex, and his ex. When you travel with three or more people it’s tough to set an itinerary, because every person has different preferences. Below are the places we visited in Chicago and I’m sure any person will enjoy when they travel to Chicago.

pancakes

Wildberry

Wildberry was the first restaurant I went to for my first day in Chicago. Originally Alex recommended we go to Yolk for breakfast. He was living in Chicago for a few months now so I trusted his suggestion. ON the way to Yolk our Uber driver started recommending a million places. He then recommended we go to Wildberry instead. He was a local so I trusted his suggestion more. I was not disappointed at all. They have great pancakes, doesn’t even need syrup and you get all lot of food for your money.

revival-food-hall

Revival Food Hall

Revival Food Hall is the perfect place for a group that can’t decide what they want to eat. This was the circumstance we had for a late lunch on Friday. We all ended up enjoying tacos at Antique Taco Chiquito. The tacos were delicious, but the salsa has more of a tomato soup texture. There are other options for someone that has a taste for pizza, barbecue, and seafood restaurants.

paradise-park-chicago

Paradise Park Chicago

Paradise Park is the cutest rooftop bar! I found this bar on Instagram because it is definitely an Instagram worthy place. Downstairs they have cool chairs and seating for the restaurant, but when you go upstairs it’s even more of a paradise. I just enjoyed a couple of drinks and swung on the swinging booth. So whether you just watch to chill and talk with friends or take a cute picture this is the perfect place!

stans-donuts-cookie

Stan’s Donuts & Coffee

At Stan’s Donuts& Coffee I honestly only had a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie is different because there is a hole in the middle as if it were a donut. It makes the cookie so much better! So if you a big cookie fan definitely try 1 or maybe get a donut instead.

krusty-krab-replay

Replay Lincoln Park

I went to Replay Lincoln Park mainly to see the Spongebob Popup, but this bar had so much more to offer. When I first walked in there were arcade games and pinball machines scattered everywhere (which are free to play). As you walked further into the bar there was the Krusty Krab sign. I honestly felt like I was in the Spongebob Squarepants show. They did sell Krabby Patties, but they are just regular hamburgers. Replay also hosts trivia and bingo nights during the week if you want to have even more fun.

garfield-park-conservatory

Garfield Park Conservatory

Garfield Park Conservatory is a chill spot to visit. Apparently, the Conservatory is where Alex takes all his dates (that’s what he told me). IT really is an amazing place that has a million different beautiful plants. The conservatory has different rooms that host plants that flourish in different types of weather. I was sweating in some rooms because it’s so humid inside. There’s even a dry room that looks like a desert and has a plant growing outside of the roof

wndr-museum

Wndr Museum

Wndr Museum was my favorite spot in Chicago. This, unlike any museum, its lots of fun, that awakens your imagination and creativity. There so many different rooms with different experiences. There are even secret spots for females. While waiting in line the employees would tell us to check out the bathroom while we waited. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s a must-visit!

chicago-navy-pier

Navy pier

Navy Pier is another place that has multiple options for food. The pier is even better because it offers so much more. This is a place that hosts many events, offers lots of food and bar options, the Centennial Ferris wheel, and a beautiful view. They also have fireworks at 10:15 every Saturday. There is usually always something going on during the weekend, just check out their events calendar.

millennium-park

Millennium Park & Willis Tower Skydeck

I think the touristy places you should check out is the Millennium Park & Willis Tower Skydeck. Millennium Park is where you can find the Chicago landmark ‘bean’. It filled with tourists, but you’ll want to check it out.

I was not able to visit the Willis Tower Skydeck, but I know it would be a cool experience. They have an observation window called The Ledge. It’s a glass balcony extending outside the 103rd floor of Willis Tower. If you’re not afraid of heights I’m sure you’ll want to check this out when you visit Chicago.
