The 24 Hour Celebration for my 24th Birthday

So I’m official 24! I never do anything big for my birthday, but I wanted to do something a little different. One day I was watching Margot Robbie on Jimmy Kimmel as she talked about her 24th birthday. She celebrated her birthday for 24hrs straight so I decided to do the same thing!

I don’t like to get my hopes up about “my day”, so putting this whole thing together was nerve-racking. I sent out an Evite and created an itinerary of 24 things I wanted to do in 24 hours for my 24th birthday and this is how my day went…

1. Drink 24 Drinks

So to keep with the theme I decided I should drink 24 drinks. I decided all 24 drinks did not have to be alcoholic, but I still didn’t finish all my 24 drinks. I still drank a lot though…

2. Mani-Pedi

I was holding off to wait to get my mani-pedi done, but I love them!

3. Brunch & Mimosas

I went to Meehan’s Public House for the $15 unlimited mimosas. This helped me get me to start my day with a few drinks and food in my stomach.

4. Take Pictures with Everyone

I basically added this to my list, to have a total of 24 tasks. Here’s proof that I took some pictures though!

5, 6 & 7. Activities at Painted Duck

The Painted Duck is an awesome place you should check out in Atlanta. It has bowling along with some other interesting games you can play for free. They also have a great drink called Bourbon Smash which I definitely recommend.

8. Lunch at Krog Street Market

I didn’t actually eat lunch at Krog Street Market, because I was full from brunch. This place has plenty of options for people to choose from. I did run into my coworker which was a fun coincidence, and she even bought me a drink in honor of my birthday. Yay for free drinks!

9. Eat Favorite Jeni’s Ice Cream

There is Jeni’s Ice Cream inside Krog Street Market. I decided to buy a whole pint to bring back home. My favorite flavor is Gooey Butter Cake, but they have so many options for everyone.

10. Outfit Change

I wanted to be a diva and have an outfit change. I also wanted to be able to take a break in my hotel.

11. Dinner at bartaco

Bartaco is one of my favorite restaurants with great tacos and margaritas. They are a cashless restaurant and they serve hard tortillas instead of nachos, but I love a place that’s a little different.

12. Eat Birthday Cake

My lovely mother brought a strawberry cake from Piece of Cake. The cake has little pieces of strawberries and cream cheese icing. OMG its just amazing!!!

13. Bar #1 – Midtown Tavern

Midtown Tavern is a bar with cheap drinks and karaoke so I thought this would be the perfect place to start a fun night.

14 & 15. Sing Karaoke

I love singing so I had to belt out a few songs. I never know what to sing, but my friend and I ended up singing Forget You by Cee Lo Green.

16. Bar #2 – Dark Horse Tavern

Dark Horse Tavern is one of my favorite bars in Atlanta. They also have karaoke and multiple levels to drink. I decided to not skip this bar, just so I wouldn’t have to bar hop again.

17. Bar #3 – Buckhead Saloon

You are always guaranteed to have a great time at Buckhead Saloon. If you’re in Atlanta you’ve probably been told to go to Buckhead to party. They play great music for everyone and they have a pole that the girls can dance on.

18. Give Out Free Hugs

This was my favorite part of the night! A hug is the best thing you can give anyone especially strangers. People got out of their cars to give me a hug; some people walked right passed me uninterested and one guy actually gave me $10, which was a plus.

19. Waffle House/ IHOP

As usually Waffle House was packed after all the bars closed, so I just grabbed something at Cookout right before it closed instead.

Unfortunately, I did not get to anything else after 20. After eating we headed back to the hotel. I was supposed to get in the jacuzzi at my hotel, but I knocked out as soon as I got to my room.

How was the Celebration?

I knew the day wouldn’t go exactly as planned, nothing ever does. I had a fear that out of the people I invited a lot wouldn’t attend, so I made sure I was prepared by choosing activities and places that didn’t require me to have a big group. It was a little disappointing a lot of people canceled last minute, but overall I had a great time and will always remember my 24hr birthday celebration.

Last year on my birthday I started this blog with a crazy idea of going on date in each state. Celebrating my 24th birthday is a crazy way and the only way to do it. I can’t wait to keep living out my wild ideas and hopefully give you some ideas to try as well!
