The Little Mermaid

First off…thank you for reading my first blog post 🙂

This blog was created so I can share my experiences of traveling and dating. I’ve always wanted travel and all my friends know that I’m all the dating apps and I always have a date planned. I’m single so I can do this and I have traveling perks with my job.   So I came up with this idea.

My goal for the next few years is to visit all 50 United States. Not only do I plan to visit each state, I will go on a date with a guy in each state. I’m young and so are my friends, but not everyone has the luxury to travel so much especially when we are still figuring out our lives out. I’m impatient and want to start traveling now, but I want to have some company to go on adventures with.

So why the Black Little Mermaid you may be asking…well one reason was because I couldn’t think of another name I like, but honestly I think it’s the perfect fit for what my blog is about.

Reason 1

First off if it isn’t clear I am black lol. My mom is Jamaican and my dad is from Guyana making me a first generation American

Reason 2

I love Disney movies and one of my favorites is The Little Mermaid. I’ll sing all the songs any time any place! Sometimes when I tell people it’s my favorite Disney movie they discuss how it’s about a girl defying her father for a boy, but that’s not how I relate to it.

Ariel was a curious girl that wanted to learn about a whole new world and happened to fall in love with a guy that was from there. Eric shared his world with her and taught her new things which is kind of what I want to happen.

I’m may not be growing fins and visiting the sea, but I want to explore new worlds with the possibility to fall in love. And hey if I don’t find it in the US there so many other countries 😉
