While I was on a great date with Javier I made plans for the following day. I had plans to go on a date with another guy. So far my experience in Oklahoma was going really well so I was excited to see what the rest of the weekend held.
Saturday morning I finalized my plans with my date – Nick. I got dressed excited to have some fun at RiverSport Adventures. I called my Lyft and texted Nick I was on the way. On the way there I constantly refreshed my dating app waiting for a response back. As I pulled up to my destination I noticed my date unmatched and stood me up.
I was upset as I walked into the building of RiverSport Adventures. Being stood up in Louisiana sucked, but this time it was different because I didn’t have a friend to fall back on. I was standing alone as I watched couples and families wait in line to buy their pass for the day. I thought the easiest thing to do was to leave, but I wanted to experience RiverSport Adventures.
What Happened After Being Stood Up
Instead of letting a guy ruin my day, I decided to see if I would be able to join somebody that was already there. I awkwardly stood by the entrance looking for a group that would be nice enough to let me join. Unfortunately, everyone that walked in was couples or families so it was difficult to find a decent group to ask. As soon as I was about to give up I saw a big group of young boys walk in. Realizing this group was my only chance, I nervously walked over to two of the guys.
I went up and said ‘I know this sounds crazy, but can I join you guys for the day?’ I went on to explain why I was there by myself. The group’s guardian told me it was up to the group. They were there to celebrate one of their birthdays. He questioned if there was something I really wanted to do because the boys were 15 & 16-year-olds! I honestly didn’t’ care who I was hanging out with and I just hoped these high schoolers didn’t mind me crashing the birthday celebration.
Once all the boys exited the locker room the guardian told them I wanted to join them. Without thinking the boys just said “okay!” I was happy the boys helped turn my day around, but I thought it was definitely crazy I was going to hang out with a bunch of high school boys.
A Date With Highschool Boys
All the boys introduced themselves as we waited in line to order lunch. They actually knew each other from a youth group so they mostly talked church and an upcoming baptism. I laughed with myself watching the guys interact with each other, just thinking back to when I was their age. We started off water rafting together. I was going to strip sports bra and bikini bottoms but I didn’t want to the young guys any ideas. Afterward, I tag along as they tried out the other activities Riversport Adventures offered.
Hanging out with high school boys for a day wasn’t what I planned, but I will always remember it. Dating keeps throwing punches at me, but I’m always down to turn it positive. And hopefully, it just turns into more adventures I can share with you!
Hey girl! This almost happened to me. Refreshed the app before I left the house for the date, and found the guy unmatched with me. What a jerk move. So glad you didn’t let that experience ruin your day!
Thanks for reading! Lucky you didn’t leave your house yet. I don’t understand why people do that smh.
